Late Mahant Parsu Ram ji Maharaj founded Shri Bharat Mandir School society and started a middle School in 1941 in Rishikesh and later upgraded to Intermediate College. Society founded the S.B.M Public School in 1997 to cater the need of the local population for good English Medium education.

A number of other institutes like�� Shri Bharat Mandir Sanskrit Mahavidhyalaya ��and��Jyoti�, a special school for mentally retarded, were also started by the same society.
