Welcome to AIIMS Rishikesh
AIIMS Rishikesh is one of the SIX Apex healthcare institutes being established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). With the aim of correcting regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country and attaining self sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education and training, the PMSSY planned to set up 6 new AIIMS institutions in under served areas of the country.
These institutions are being established by an Act of Parliament on the lines of the original All India Institute of Medical Sciences,New Delhi which imparts both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in all its branches and related fields.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rishikesh is a medical college, Hospital and medical research public university, based in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India. The Institute operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Minister for Health and Family Welfare, serves as the president.
The government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi with the objective of correcting regional imbalances in the availability of affordable and reliable tertiary healthcare services and also to augment facilities for quality medical education creating a critical mass of doctors and conduct research in the country relevant to the area Main mission is to establish a centre of excellence in medical education, training, health care and research imbued with scientific culture, compassion for the sick and commitment to serve the under served.
